With the end of the Warming Center Winter Program approaching, Mayor Gary Christenson is pleased to announce that the “Malden Cares Street Team” will once again be back at the Malden MBTA Station Monday through Friday from 4-7 PM beginning Monday, April 4th. For the entire month of April, the coaches will be working out of the Malden Public Schools Food Truck. Beginning Monday, May 2nd, Malden Cares will be at the MBTA Station 7 days a week, Monday through Friday, 4-7 PM and Saturday and Sunday 10 AM-1 PM.

The City & Malden PD initiated a Community Clinician Integration Program. This effort was led by Councillor Peg Crowe who partnered with Eliot CHS to secure the grants. The funding provides mental health and crisis intervention training as well as a licensed clinician who is integrated within the Police Dept & assisting officers.

Malden receives  funding under the State's Shared Streets & Spaces program. Malden will use its $491,000 grant to build dedicated bus and bike lanes on Centre St between Main St & the Malden Center Orange Line station.

Employees at the Dept of Public Works were delivered a sweet surprise - packages of chocolate chip cookies provided by Cookies for Caregivers Boston in appreciation of the DPW employees’ continued work during the pandemic. From snow and trash removal, to maintenance and upkeep of street and sidewalk repairs, the DPW is 24/7 & Cookies for Caregivers Boston acknowledged and personally thanked employees for their service and commitment to the community.

Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday 10AM-7PM.

Mayor Christenson recently attended a ribbon cutting for a new office of Triangle, Inc. at 157 Pleasant S. This location will serve as Triangle’s hub for individual job seekers & referrals from the Mass Rehabilitation Comm and the Dept of Transitional Assistance along with a new Testing Center that will provide a variety of tests for job seekers.
